Independent Facilitators Based in the Portland Region Michelle De Lude, CH MNLP is a certified hypnotherapist and master practictioner of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) at Apositiva Counseling, Coaching and Training Center in Portland. She has been using Nonviolent Communication in her work with individuals and groups, and she has a passion for seeing NVC grow in corporate settings. Jim Hussey, LPC, is a licensed psychotherapist in Oregon and Washington that uses and teaches NVC in his private practice, in a mental health clinic, and to the public. Jim is pursuing certification with CNVC and has over 120 hours of training with certified trainers, including an intensive training 9 days with Dr Rosenberg. Jim has been meditating and teaching meditation for 31 years and continues to combine Mindfulness and NVC in his work. Barbara MacKay is a certified professional facilitator© who regularly uses non-violent communication techniques with groups in conflict and in her own daily life. Barbara attended the 10 day retreat offered by Marshall Rosenberg in Washington in 2001 and has taken four other half to one day workshops with Marshall and/or Marshall's certified trainers. Barbara offers introductory NVC workshops for an honorarium to not for profit organizations or those wishing to start up NVC practice groups. Barbara specializes in conflict resolution or healing/grieving sessions for groups using a facilitative approach and the NVC model and language. She has created several two hour to full day training workshops on conflict transformation. She regularly conducts team-building and strategic planning sessions for groups of 5 to 300+. Kathy Marchant has dedicated herself to cultivating connection with self and others in ways that both inspire compassion and nurture community. She was executive director of an organization mentoring troubled teens when she discovered the power of Nonviolent Communication to help build and sustain quality relationships. Witnessing how this process transformed lives, Kathy dedicated herself to living and sharing the principles of NVC and now supports others in the practical day-to-day application and learning of the process. Stuart Watson, MPA, is the founder of ORNCC-Portland and the ORNCC State Coordinator. He has almost 600 hours experience with CNVC trainers, facilitated over 80 NVC intros and conflict resolution trainings, led several practice groups, and graduated from an NVC Yearlong Leadership Program. Stuart is a certified family mediator, with nearly a decade experience specializing in relationship and divorce mediation in Portland, Oregon through Progressive Mediation. Stuart provides introductory, daylong, or multiple session workshops on any facet of NVC or Conflict Resolution at $60-$100 per hour. Carol utilizes the Compassionate Communication model which supports you to gain more clarity about your feelings and needs and connects you more deeply to yourself and others. Katy Elliott, MA, MFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with individuals and couples to improve self awareness, communication skills and quality of life. Katy holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and has studied with Marshall Rosenberg since beginning her work as a therapist in 1991. Katy incorporates the principles and practice of Compassionate Communication in her work. Additionally, she has post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Spirituality. She has participated in over 150 hours of training by Certified NVC Trainers, including the IIT in Bellingham, WA, in fall, 2001. She particularly likes providing training to groups of co-workers in organizations because they are then able to practice with each other and deepen their learning of NVC. She has facilitated practice groups and provided workshops since fall, 2002. Bryn is the Regional Coordinator for ORNCC in Bend and serves as secretary for the ORNCC Board. His training includes nine intensives in NVC; "It's one of the best processes i've found for inspiring a depth of compassion i first encountered in community in 1985. Recently i've consulted to communities, and led or co-led workshops in the U.S. and Europe. Earlier i was in Sri Lanka as part of the Sandhi Institute, and was also part of the team sharing NVC at Communication for Change in 2006, and (unofficially) the 2005 India CNVC intensive. Much of what i do is informal and organic - at Walnut St. Co-op where i live, and in all the relationships, organizations and networks i'm involved in. Michael Dreiling is a professor of Sociology at the University of Oregon, a co-founder of the Oregon Network for Compassionate Communication, and an active father of two children. He finds inspiration in the awareness that beneath every message, in every person stirs life-supporting motives. Using the tools of Nonviolent Communication, Michael wishes to support this "Giraffe" consciousness in human society. Michael has spent approximately 200 hours in NVC trainings, soaking in the technique and spirit of compassionate communication. She has developed and offered workshops on a variety of topics including Imagery and Nonviolent Communication (NVC). She co-facilitates an ongoing group in NVC. Bev is also a Registered Nurse or 30 years and is a Board Certified Holistic Nurse which means she integrates Mind, Body and Spirit for healing in her client relationships. Meta Hough (the name rhymes with beta rough) offers practice groups, empathy circles, one-day workshops for 4-6 participants, and coaching for workshop assistants and practice group facilitators. She works in the Eugene area, and requests $20-$200/day for workshops. Since June 2000, she has attended about 70 days of training with certified CNVC trainers, and facilitated 2 day-long workshops, 3 empathy circles, and about 10 practice groups or classes 5-15 weeks in length. Based in Tillamook Karen Campbell is currently working for OYA as a Unit Coordinator/Asst Treatment Manager at Tillamook Youth Corrections Facility. She has previously worked for DOC as Life Skills Program Coordinator for Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. Prior to Coffee Creek Karen worked for 13 years at Oregon State Penitentiary as a Recreation Specialist and Correctional Officer. Nonviolent Communication is being taught and practiced in those facilities due in large part to her efforts. She was one of the founders of ORNCC and also served on the advisory board for Freedom Project, CNVC's prison in-reach program. Karen provides many other cognitive and leisure learning opportunities in her daily duties. She is a trained peer mediator and teaches dispute resolution and NVC on the job and off. Karen provides introductory NVC lectures in a variety of settings including professional/educational seminars, churches, and even Holistic Fairs in which she uses the Tarot Cups as a means of expressing the concepts.
